Newstead Medical is a group general practice situated in the middle class suburb of Newstead in Launceston, Tasmania. Newstead is an eastern suburb, approximately five minutes from the city centre. Newstead Medical is 20-30 minutes from the airport. This practice is situated in a small shopping centre on a main road, next to a pharmacy and an x-ray department. It is close to four of Launceston’s nursing homes, a retirement village and several independent and public schools. Patients come from a varied cross-section of the community. The practice prides itself in delivering first class medical care to all patients regardless of income, ethnic origins and illness. The Partners are currently looking into renovations / extensions to accommodate our growing health preventative programs. The practice is an authorised teaching practice for the University of Tasmania for student nurses and student doctors. |

We would like our Registrar to be clinically competent and to treat his/her patient with respect at all times. If called during the ‘After Hours’ period, the patient should not be treated as a nuisance. |
